What's Jake Doing?
A public availability and calendar app with recurring events, an ICS feed, and protected administration.
Problem
Sharing current availability needs a clear public view without exposing administrative credentials or direct browser write access.
Outcome
The live site gives visitors a current calendar and subscription feed while keeping event management behind a protected admin workflow.
What's Jake Doing? architecture
A public calendar reads protected event data while server-only functions own administrative writes and feed generation.
- React calendar: Public day, week, month, and availability views
- Vercel Functions: Authenticated writes and calendar feed responses
- Supabase PostgreSQL: Events, overrides, sessions, and row-level policies
- ICS subscribers: Standards-based calendar subscription output
